Snowy December Weekend

This weekend was a fabulous one, for several reasons.

Reason #1: I finally got over a cold I’ve been battling for over a week. Yippee!

Reason #2: Our city got 7 inches of that fluffy, white stuff we call SNOW. It was the most breathtaking snow I’ve ever experienced in my life. None of that southern snow-mixed-with-ice that I’m used to, but straight-up powdery snow. It was even too fluffy for snowmen and snowball fights {which made me sad}. It snowed for at least 12 hours straight. It’s a good thing I literally had nothing to do on Friday because all I could do was stare out the window.

Today {Saturday}, we woke up to clear blue skies and all the snow still intact. The temperature got down to the single digits last night with a wind chill below zero. That snow ain’t going anywhere for a few days! I am a happy girl.

Reason #3: I am now the proud owner of a grown-up camera…a Canon Rebel T3!!! I’m really thankful that postmen and women don’t have “snow days.” I was waiting at the door {letting in all the cold air} when the postman arrived to deliver it. I was like a little kid at Christmas, literally jumping up and down. I have been interested in photography for as long as I can remember, but have never had the opportunity to improve my skills with a real camera. I’m really excited to learn all I can!
